Musings of a Fashion Conquistador

I am a girl too big for where I am but too small yet for where I want to be.

Do bald people wash their head with soap or shampoo?

If I were bald, I’d still wash my head with shampoo because soap dries out my skin & who on earth would want a dried out scalp?

Ask me anything

So, I’m pretty much freaking out about buying a bathing suit for Florida :P I would really like to get one from Victoria’s Secret because they’re about the same price as swimsuits from other stores I’ve considered, but they’re better quality (or so I’ve heard…) The one featured in the picture is my absolute number one favorite right now, but… it’s also the most expensive of the one’s I’m looking at. Haha! It rings in at $73 which seems like wayyy too much to pay for a bathing suit. I’m just so in love with the loud floral print and colors and that little cinched skirt and the ruffles on the top are too cute for words. I am currently struggling about whether or not to splurge or save money for some real clothing. It’s not like I’m not going to use it. Obviously, I’m going to Florida all summer from June 30 to August 4 and I’m sure I’ll spend at least half those days at the beach, pool, or a waterpark. Plus when I get back home, it’ll give me incentive to get a membership at the YMCA so I can start working out and swimming. But still, a part of me still cries inside at the thought of dropping almost $100 on a swimsuit.

As I am still slacking in the wardrobe department, I thought I’d share some things I’m looking for this Summer during Back-to-School Shopping :D There’s two malls near my grandma’s house which is where I’m staying over the Summer and the stores I’ll be shopping at are American Eagle, Old Navy, PacSun, Wet Seal, Charlotte Russe, J.C. Penney, Delia*s, Forever 21, Gap, and Hot Topic. And of course there’ll be lots of thrifting involed ;)
As for specific items I’ll be scouring the shelves for are a super cute jumper, high waist denim shorts, gladiator sandals, tights, purple cords, knee high socks, and maybe some sky high wedges. I’m also thinking about trying on some harem pants because for some crazy reason I’ve been attracted to them lately. I used to cringe every time I saw a pair, but the girls on Chictopia are really showing me the good side to that trend, soooo, who knows, maybe I’ll be rocking a pair in the near future :O
Other than that, only 9 days left until I leave for Florida :D Anyone wanna help me pack?

Seeing as how I’ve been a horrible slacker with my outfits lately, I thought I’d share some inspiration instead :)

This look was from John Galliano’s Spring Ready to Wear collection, and I’m in loooove with this look and really, the feel of his entire show. The colors are so beautiful together and all the flowing shapes really captured my heart ♥
And by the way, I do have an excuse for my slacker behavior. Basically, I’m saving all my cutest outfits because I’m leaving for Florida on the 30th and I probably wont do laundry before then, soooo I’m saving the best until I get there :) Trust me, it’s worth it, the photography will be much better too since I’ll be out and about a lot.

Shitty day, shitty phone, shitty boyfriend’s friends, pretty cute outfit :p
Just wore my ruffly shirt from J.C.Penney under a grey shrug mis madre bought me for Christmas from Charlotte Russe. Also wore my favorite jeans, they’re Z.D. Premium Dark Wash Jeans, I’m not sure where they were purchased, but I should find out soon and buy at least two pairs in every color. (Yep, they’re that amazing.) Also put my favorite shoes on today :D They’re Isaac Mizrahi for Target, but I thrifted them for an easy $6. Speaking of awesome thrift Target finds, I got a really cute make-up bag from there that was originally around $14 for about $3. I know, right? If you’re wondering which one, it’s the purple floral one, I’m too lazy to post a link, sorry. Anyways, topped this one off with my black cube necklace from Claire’s.
